Four Seasons Hotel

Dogmersfield, Hampshire

The Four Seasons Hotel in Dogmersfield Park, Hampshire is a Grade I listed Georgian manor house and estate set in historic countryside. The earliest mention of the manor house was in 1086 in the Domesday Book as Doccemere feld “the field by the lake where the water lilies grow.”

GTS negotiated the purchase of the mansion and the separate 600 acre surrounding farm restoring the property and historic park back to its former glory as most of the historic interior had been removed by the previous owners to facilitate an office and IT suites.

As with other Grade I listed buildings GTS has worked on, one of the greatest challenges was meeting the stringent fire and soundproofing codes specified by the luxury hotel operator including integrating a sprinkler system, whilst ensuring there was no substantial harm to the fabric of the building.

Although there were no essential repairs required given its former use as an office, the substantial extension necessary for a conversion to a luxury branded hotel was instigated solely for the public benefit of returning it back to its former glory and reinstating the great park.

During construction GTS were very careful to minimise disruption and the new Four Seasons Hotel has been very beneficial to the local community. As well as contributing vast sums annually in business rates the hotel employs large numbers of local people under formal contract with the majority of staff employed locally. The hotel has also gone out of it’s way to work with and support the village residents, local church, village school and parish council. The passing of traffic through the centre of the village has been managed with no issues being raised by the aforementioned local residents and parish council.
